The Dream That Started It All: How Billow Beach Came to Life
Some ideas stick with you. They show up in moments of adventure, whispering in the back of your mind, waiting for the day you bring them to life. That’s exactly how Billow Beach was born—a 10-year dream turned into reality.
Where It All Began
Growing up in the Sutherland Shire, Sydney, the beach wasn’t just a place I visited—it was part of my daily life. Whether I was heading down for a morning dip, lounging on the sand after work, or packing up for a weekend adventure, I always craved comfort and convenience.
Over the years, I found myself constantly carrying too much—a beach towel, a pillow for extra comfort, a bag to store my essentials… It felt like there had to be a better way. That’s when the idea hit me (10 years ago):
What if one bag could do it all?

Why I Created Billow Beach
I didn’t just want another basic beach tote. I wanted something that fit my lifestyle—whether I was:
✔️ Exploring new waterfalls
✔️ Traveling long distances
✔️ Relaxing at the beach or park
✔️ Even stuck at an airport overnight
I imagined a product that wasn’t just stylish but practical, making it easier for people to enjoy outdoor adventures without the hassle of carrying too many things.
At first, it was just an idea. I didn’t have a manufacturer, a prototype, or even a brand name. But I had a vision.
From Dream to Reality
Fast forward to October 2023, I finally decided to stop dreaming and start creating. I began sketching out the first design, researching fabrics, and reaching out to manufacturers who could bring Billow Beach to life.
What I didn’t expect? Finding out I was pregnant while launching the business!
Balancing morning sickness, running my other business Pretty Cool Marketing, and working on Billow Beach was next level. But I was determined—if I could dream it, I could do it. (and you can too!)
The Journey Ahead
Creating Billow Beach has been an incredible ride, and this is just the beginning. With anticipating my first bulk order due to arrive the same time as my son, I had to get into the mindset to take every moment as it comes.
Seeing the response so far—the excitement, the waitlist, the love for Billow Beach—makes every moment worth it, so thank you.
